Video Toolkits: Learn How to Support & Retain Veteran Employees
In these one-minute snippets, Dr. Leslie Hammer, introduces you to specific behaviors that can help supervisors support their veteran employees. These behaviors are tied to improved employee health, decreased family stress and increased employee retention. The videos are based on the Veteran Supportive Supervisor Training developed by Dr. Hammer and her research team.
The videos were produced by the PsychArmor Institute, a nonprofit organization that provides free educational materials to help people engage effectively with the military. The full videos are available on the PsychArmor website.
Wellbeing in the Workplace - Prioritizing Mental Health in the Workplace
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, in collaboration with the President’s Roadmap to Empower Veterans and End the National Tragedy of Suicide (PREVENTS) Executive Order Task Force and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, launched Wellbeing in the Workplace, a collaborative effort to prioritize mental health and wellbeing in the workplace. As part of the effort, coalition companies and organizations are signing a Pledge to Prioritize Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing in the Workplace.

RESOURCES FOR VETERANS - STATEWIDE
The Oregon Department of Veterans’ Affairs has developed a new online tool to help guide veterans and their families in recovery in the wake of the economic crisis caused by COVID-19 and to inform them of any changes to their earned benefits. The Veteran Resource Navigator is designed to assist veterans from all walks of life in finding the federal, state and local resources that are most needed for their unique circumstances in 2020.
This tool includes resources that are organized by topic, including Economic, Health, Education, Housing and Food, and other resources. Veterans can also access additional assistance, by calling an ODVA Veteran Resource Navigator at 800-692-9666.

Oregon State County Veteran Service Offices
Whether you served your country more than 65 years ago or have just returned home, the Oregon Department of Veterans' Affairs (ODVA) and Veterans Service Officers (VSOs) statewide are here to help you. When working with a VSO, you will be served by an accredited and certified professional who is an expert in veteran law. There are VSOs in every county across Oregon, in many national service organizations and at the Salem and Portland offices of the ODVA. Worksource Oregon list of DVOPS/LVERS
Worksource Oregon has veteran employment representatives (DVOPS/ LVERS) who assist veterans on transitioning back into the civilian workforce and alerting them to available training opportunities. A free service helping military veterans find jobs in private security
Returning Veterans Project is a nonprofit organization comprised of politically unaffiliated and independent health care practitioners who offer free and confidential services to returning veterans and service members of the current Iraq and Afghanistan campaigns and their families. Services are available in Oregon and Southwest Washington. Volunteer providers are mental health professionals, acupuncturists, naturopaths, chiropractors, massage therapists and other complementary health care practitioners. We believe it is our collective responsibility to offer support and healing for the short and long-term repercussions of war zone service on veterans and their families.

VA National Center for PTSD Family Guide for Reintegration
Many families wrestle with reintegration issues. Service members and their loved ones have had different experiences during the deployment period, and all have changed as a result. This guide is designed to help families set realistic expectations, and work through some of the challenges of homecoming, in order to make the reunion as happy as possible.

The DVNF Financial Guidance Program will provide Veterans with a free Military Membership Kit for Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University which entitles the Veteran to enroll in and attend the 13 week money management course either at a local, in person, class or via the online course offering. The goal of DVNF's Financial Guidance Program is to help Veterans learn to better budget their money, save for unexpected expenses and pay off debt. To be eligible, Veterans must have served in the active military or military auxiliaries, and have been discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable.
